Since location is the number one criterium for choosing your Malta accommodation, we’ve created a map with some of the best hotels in Malta.

Valletta hotels

Staying in a boutique hotel in Valletta is an experience in itself. There are some true gems to be found. Our favorite picks are Casa Ellul, Phoenicia Hotel Malta & The Saint John. Each of these fairly new Valletta boutique hotels comes with its own personality and offers a unique touches. One of the three even has its own creperie… We leave it up to you to find out which one. 🙂

Three cities hotels

We love this part of the main island so much that we spent an entire article on it: Three Cities Malta. The area manages to keep its authentic feel and we truly hope it stays that way. The fact that the accommodation options are limited, allows it to maintain a certain exclusivity. This is the hotel we’d recommend: Cugó Gran Macina Grand Harbour in Senglea (Isla), a member of Marriott’s Design Hotels collection. Just look at those gorgeous pool views!

Malta beach resorts

As you may have read in our best beaches in Malta article, sandy beaches are pretty scarce on the islands. As a result, there aren’t many 5 star hotels in Malta that have a stretch of private beach. There’s one resort that’s renowned for its prime location in Golden Bay and that’s the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Malta Golden Sands in Mellieha. If you’re looking for a Malta beach resort, then this is your best bet.

Gozo accommodation

Taking the ferry from Malta to Gozo is quite time-consuming so it can be convenient to stay on the island for a few days and look for Gozo accommodation . It’s a small, rural island and the number of hotels is still limited and often in high demand. So, make sure to book well in advance. Gozo accommodation comes in all styles and sizes. From a luxury resort like the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz to a boutique hotel like The Duke. Another option is to look at the many Gozo farmhouses for rent on AirBnb.
